Drug Testing – Cocaine Drug Test – (COC Drug Test)

Mandatory drug testing in the United States became popular in the 1980s, led by gradually expanding federal government requirements.  The federal government first ordered drug testing in the military, then extended the requirement for drug testing to federal workers.  Meanwhile, private employers were persuaded on their own to drug test by statistics showing that drug users are more likely than other workers to file workers’ compensation claims, be involved in a workplace accident, or create various disciplinary problems.  Many diagnostic laboratories which conduct preemployment and random workplace drug testing, are seeing increased uses of cocaine and marijuana.  Therefore, faced with increased use of some drugs in the workplace, some health officials say more employers should consider implementing drug-testing programs.

There are many different kinds of drug tests available to measure cocaine on drug tests.  We offer a number of the most superior quality, top-of-the-line drug testing kits available on the market.  Our drug tests kits include everything you need to administer drug testing in your laboratory, medical office, business, hospital or educational organization.   We also offer popular drug test kits for various other drugs, ELISA drug test kits, CLIA Waved Drug Tests, Strip drug tests, 2 panel drug tests, multi panel drug tests, and cassette drug tests.  We are always improving our comprehensive line of drug test kits, thus offering to you the utmost in selection of the highest quality products available for drug testing.

A popular choice for cocaine drug testing is to have the subject provide a urine sample on the drug test.  A urine drug test is relatively inexpensive and can detect relatively recent (within the past seven days) use as well as long-term exposure to the drug.  Urine drug test kits are available as on-site tests, or laboratory analysis. Urinalysis is the most common drug test type and used by federally mandated drug testing programs and is considered the Gold Standard of drug testing.   The drug tests are drug metabolite specific.  Commonly ingested substances such as vitamins, penicillin, aspirin, caffeine, and acetaminophen will not affect the drug test nor interfere with the drug test results.  The cocaine drug is detectable by standard drug tests on urine up to 72 hours after use.  However, drug tests may detect the cocaine drug with long-term, habitual users who may have traces of the cocaine drug in their system for longer than the standard three days.

Our Cocaine Drug Test (COC Drug Test) is an immunochromatography based one step in vitro test. This drug test is designed for qualitative determination of cocaine drug substances in human urine specimens.

The Cocaine Drug Testing device is based on the principle of specific immunochemical reaction between antibodies and antigens to analyze particular compounds in human urine specimen. The assay relies on the competition for binding antibody between drug conjugate and free drug which may be present in the urine specimen being tested. When the cocaine drug is present in the urine specimen, it competes with drug conjugate for the limited amount of antibody-dye conjugate. When the amount of the cocaine drug is equal or more than the cut-off, it will prevent the binding of drug conjugate to the antibody. Therefore, a positive urine specimen on the Cocaine Drug Test will not show a colored band on the test line zone, indicating a positive result, while the presence of a colored band indicates a negative result. A control line is present in the test window to work as procedural control. This colored band should always appear on the control line zone if the Cocaine Drug testing device is stored in good condition and the Cocaine drug test is performed appropriately.

This Cocaine Drug Test (COC Drug Test) provides only a preliminary analytical test result. A more specific alternative chemical method must be used in order to obtain a confirmed analytical result. Gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS) has been established as the preferred confirmatory method by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Clinical consideration and professional judgment should be applied to any drug of abuse test result, particularly when preliminary positive results are indicated.

The optional built-in Adulteration Test is for validation of urine specimen’s integrity and must not be used for In Vitro diagnostic use. The cutoff level for this Cocaine Drug Test (COC Drug Test) is 300 ng/ml of benzoylecgonine. For customized cutoff level cocaine drug tests, please contact Customer Service. This Cocaine Drug Test (COC Drug Test) is available in multi-panel, cassette, strip, or cup format.

Methylphenidate Drug of Abuse Test

Methylphenidate is a psycho stimulant drug for the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, and narcolepsy. Methylphenidate increases dopamine levels. The abuse potential is increased when methylphenidate is crushed and snorted or when it is injected producing effects almost identical to cocaine. Cocaine-like effects can also occur with very large doses taken orally. Methylphenidate has a high potential for drug dependence and addictive abuse due to its similar pharmacological relationship to cocaine and amphetamines. Internationally, methylphenidate is a Schedule II drug under the Convention on Psychotropic Substances. In the United States, methylphenidate is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance, the designation used for substances that have a recognized medical value but present a high likelihood for abuse because of their addictive potential.

Methylphenidate is most commonly known by the Novartis trademark name Ritalin, which is an instant-release racemic mixture. There are also a variety of formulations and generic brand in existence. It may also be prescribed for off-label use in treatment-resistant cases of lethargy, depression, neutral insult, obesity, and rarely in other psychiatric disorders such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
Methylphenidate (MPD) Drug Test is an immunochromatography-based one step in vitro test. It is designed for qualitative determination of methylphenidate in human urine specimens at cut-off level of 300 ng/ml. This assay has not been evaluated in the point of care location and is for use by Healthcare Professionals only. This drug test is available in cassette and strip test format.
